Bishop Dr. Perry F. Smith Sr. has had the honor of serving as Senior Pastor of Unified Church of South Carolina for seven (7) years. He has served in many capacities in the church. He was licensed and ordained at Macedonia Church of Augusta. After duly serving in multiple positions at Macedonia, he was asked and accepted the position of Associate Pastor of Shaw's Creek Baptist Church in Trenton, SC where the Senior Pastor was Rev. R. C. Holloway. Being led by the Holy Spirit, Dr. Smith founded Unified Church of South Carolina in October 2018. Since that time, Unified Church has continued to expand. Dr. Smith is currently the General Overseer of many branches of Unified Church. Two of those branches are in South Carolina (e.g., Beech Island, SC and Columbia). On October 27, 2024, Unified Church launched a new location covered by Dr. Smith, Unified Church of North Carolina, in Fayetteville, NC under the leadership of Bishop-Elect Sean and Prophetess Karen Miles.  

Dr. Smith is the founder and CEO of Perry Smith Ministries. Perry Smith Ministries is a nonprofit organization, which focuses on mentorship and marriage counseling. It also facilitates the spreading of the gospel to all nations through education and evangelism.

Dr. Smith was activated in the gift of the Apostleship in September 2020. In 2022, he became the 3rd Assistant Prelate for 4A (ABBA's Army Apostolic Alliance), under the leadership of the International Presiding Prelate Emeritus Bishop Dr. Gregory M. Fuller. In 2023, Bishop Fuller appointed Dr. Smith as the new International Presiding Prelate-Elect and the name of the organization changed to Christ United Apostolic Alliance.

On July 26, 2024, Dr. Smith was duly consecrated to the office of Bishop in the Lord's Church by Independent Churches United under the leadership of Bishop Howard E. Franklin. On August 14, 2024, Dr. Smith was officially Enthroned as the Chief Apostle and Presiding Prelate of Christ United Apostolic Alliance (CUAA). CUAA was also officially endorsed and chartered by Independent Churches United on the same day August 14, 2024.

During his educational journey, Dr. Smith received the following degrees: Associate in Arts, Spartanburg Methodist College; Bachelor of Science, South Carolina State University; Master of Education, Southern Wesleyan University; Master of Education, Cambridge College; Leadership Add-on certification, Augusta University and an earned Doctor of Divinity from Deus Divinity School. He also served as the Dean of Christian Education and Professor at Deus Divinity School.

As an Educator, Dr. Smith served as a teacher for ten (10) years in the Richmond County School System. His next step was to go into administration in the Aiken County School system as Assistant Principal at North Augusta High School for two (2) years, Assistant Principal at Levelle McCampbell Middle School for one (1) year, and Principal at Jackson STEM Magnet Middle School for five (5) years. Currently, he is at North Augusta High School as an Assistant Principal.

Dr. Smith is a published author of the book titled "Smile a lot today God Loves You!" It is a dose of daily inspiration to encourage. It is packed with uplifting, practical wisdom that will change your life day by day.

As an entrepreneur Dr. Smith is the owner of Smith Property Maintenance LLC. This company provides all property needs for families and specializes in sheetrock repair and painting only.

Dr. Smith is a devoted family man. He gives honor to God for blessing him with a beautiful wife (Pastor Stephanie I. Smith) and three wonderful children (Perry Jr., P'eris, and P'erra Smith). He is also the loving son of Mr. Frank Smith Jr. (deceased) and Dr. Linda W. Smith.
